Any coach, scout or broadcaster will say that team dynamics leads to team chemistry which inevitably leads to wins. With a team made up of predominately freshman from all over the country, it is no wonder why the Trinity Women’s Basketball team got off to a rough start. Along with a new freshman crew, the team had to endure the adversity of six people quitting throughout the season, two of which were starters from the previous year. Head coach Amie Bradley emphasized the talent of the freshman class. She has started as many as two freshmen in one game, and another three get significant playing time off the bench. This upset some upperclassmen and led two seniors and one sophomore to quit the team. With such a young team, it was difficult to overcome this instability and adversity, and their record reflects it. However, over winter break, being virtually the only people on campus, the team bonded to overcome the adversities they had seen earlier in the season. They did team building activities set up by the coaches such as a scavenger hunt at the San Antonio Zoo. This led them to a four game winning streak beating number one ranked team in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference west, Hendrix, and the number ten ranked team in the nation, Depaw. With these two wins, the Trinity Tigers boosted themselves to second place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
